POSTCARDS // BARCELONA PART 2

Barcelona is that great mix of the old town and the ocean. Just 20 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of La Ramblas you can find yourself dipping your toes in the Balearic Sea. Barceloneta beach is dotted with beach bars, tapas restaurants and deck chairs - a top combination to escape the spanish heat.

THREADS // TALLOW'S JUNGLE JANE

You may remember my post about the Sands of Solace campaign for women's surf brand Tallow here last year. Well the girls at Tallow have done it again with an amazing look book for their new Spring 12/13 collection.

Using illustrations commissioned by artists Jay Quirk, Sandra Deikmann and Tabitha Shafran the new collection and campaign is truly Out of Africa!

STICKY BEAK // CHANDELIER SURF SHACK

This story is a little over a year old now but I couldn't get over it so I just had to share. Now, I don't know what your company/employer does for it's staff over the summer holidays but the hamper I get just does not compete with this.

Australian Richard Christiansen, who moved to the big apple to open his boutique Manhattan advertising agency Chandelier Creative, rented out a 1950's cedar bungalow in Montauk (surf suburb of the Hamptons) and completely switched out the entire contents of the home to style his own Chandelier Surf Shack for the use of the agencies staff and clients.

Every single possession of the owner's had to be photographed, bubble wrapped, labeled and placed in storage nearby to be replaced again at the end of the year. And with the help of brother Geoffrey and production designer Lena Kuffner the entire house has been resurrected in glorious 1970's endless summer surfer vibe including flea market furnishings, commissioned surfboards from Saturdays Surf NYC, back yard cinema, fire pit and teepee's.

endless summer with soludos

To coincide with their recent arrival in Australia, US espadrille brand Soludos have teamed up with Oyster Magazine for their Endless Summer competition in search of the perfect photo capturing chilled summer vibes.

With a summer trip to NYC and the Hamptons up for grabs I couldn't miss out on my chance - so here's my entry below - taken on New Years Eve at Bagnalls Beach on the NSW mid-north coast.  Best friends, corona's, sand, surf and the last sunset of 2011. Perfect.

Recently i've been following Mandy Shadforth's trip to Hawaii over at her blog Oracle Fox and I couldn't help but share some of her amazing photos capturing North Shore island life as well as her new range in collaboration with Billabong...you go girl!
