FORECAST // DULUX COLOUR TRENDS 2014

Dulux released their 2014 colour forecast last year but it wasn't until I saw these amazing images styled by the likes of Wilhemina McCarroll and Heather Nette King that their Future Tribes vision really came to life. The Future Tribes concept consists of 4 communities brought together by similar interests in life philosophies, aesthetics and of course... colour.

Here are each of the 4 tribes below. My favourite has to be The Precious Elementals. Who can resist the combined power of copper and steely blue?

The Precious Elementals

Deeply aware of the affect civilisation is having on the earth, The Precious Elementals instinctively respect and value our earth's natural resources, elements and geometric forms.

Well it was a hot one in Sydney this weekend and it seems the hours spent outside are about to increase dramatically. Bust out the sunglasses because picnics, BBQ's and general splish splash by the pool are about to get a little brighter if the new summer range from Freedom is anything to go by. STICKY BEAK // SARAH JANE CLARK'S SYDNEY HOME

You might remember last year I shared with you the Palm Beach villa of one half of cult Australian fashion label sass & bide, Heidi Middleton, via Tales of Endearment. Well now Natalie Joos has returned to Sydney to give us a look into the Vaucluse home of sass & bide's other half - Sarah Jane Clark.

Similar to Middleton, Sarah Jane has a relaxed, yet slightly more modest bohemian style. I love the black and white throw against the white couch, the oversized potted palms, the glass louvres and the striped bannisters along the staircase - genius!!

This is one fashion duo who should definitely get their designer hands dirty in a homewares range.

STICKY BEAK // DORIS DUKE'S SHANGRI-LA

I have a thing for the exotic. And I also have a thing for the sea. So imagine the flutters I got when I discovered this oasis overlooking Hawaii's Diamond Head while stalking Richard Christiansen of Chandelier Creative on Instagram.

This is Shangri-La, the glamorous 1930's seaside compound of the late tobacco heiress Doris Duke and now the centrepiece for the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art. Reflecting her passion for the art, architecture and design of the Islamic world, the 5 acres of terraced gardens and pools is a melting pot of marble carvings, intricate tiles, silk textiles and decorative artifacts, many of which collected on her many travels across India, Morocco, Persia and the Middle East.
