ADORE HOME // OCT/NOV ISSUE

The new issue of Adore Home Magazine is out today and has me longing for a return to California. This edition shines a spotlight on Los Angeles, Palm Springs and San Fransisco style, including the best places to sleep, eat and shop!! God damn it Loni, how am I going to get any work done today now??

Apart from my own 'Havana Nights' trend feature you can also enjoy some sugary sweet trends in stationery and summer holiday packing inspiration including that amazing Seafolly Bella Rose swimsuit I have been eyeing off for months now!!

Enjoy!

THE GOLDEN TOUCH

Hi. My name is Flyn, and i'm an addict.

I admit it, I just can't help myself when it comes to a crisp new notebook and this is why my desk is a notebook mountain. I use and abuse - filling only the first few pages and then getting distracted by the next new design that catches my eye. So when I spotted these today I just couldn't stay away.

Unfortunately these aren't for sale though. They are the to-die-for DIY creation of the extremely photogencic Whitney over at Eat Sleep Cuddles (my new fave). Aren't they just the perfect combination of hot pink and gold? Time to get the gold leafing out.

SUGAR PAPER

Kraft paper, hand lettering, hot pink & gold foil... these are a few of my favourite things - and all wrapped up together in one beautiful letter press collection from Los Angeles stationery company Sugar Paper. Love!

paper heaven

Bucket List item #14: Attend the National Stationery Show in New York.

Some of you might think this weird but for those who know me well, know that i'm pretty much addicted to paper goods and stationery. Today I think I counted 9 different notebooks on my desk at work - only 2 of which actually had notes in them.

As a kid I used to love the first day of school because it meant brand new pens, pencils and notebooks. And even now I always start the year off with about 4 diaries because I can never make my mind up.

So you can understand why the National Stationery Show is pretty much my nirvana, but because I'm stuck here in Sydney I have to live vicariously through lucky duck's Cyd Converse (The Sweetest Occasion) and Grace Bonney (DesignSponge) instead. Here's some of my favourite designs and stands but you can check-out the full round-ups here and here.

oh happy days on paper

Oh happy days! I'm not going to lie. If I was to receive a hand written note on this colour scrumptious note paper from design studio tokketok i'd probably be more than a little giddy.

I know paper goods and stationery aren't most people's obsession but how could that neon colour and gold foil combination not get you excited? Seriously.

And of course the fact that these sets are only for "happy" occasions means that it would be impossible not to crack a smile.

paris life

Perhaps its the possibility of my trip to Paris for Christmas this year but I am sooo in luurve with these Paris Life Postcards from new online store Our Paper Shop.

Overlayed type is certainly the new black and these are almost too nice to actually use. We currently have some quirky black and white prints from Paris hanging in our bathroom, so maybe these could make a welcome addition to the collection. Certainly makes brushing your teeth more enjoyable.

let's picnic!

These free picnic printables from Amy Moss at Eat Drink Chic have inspired me.
Time to get the gang together for a little gourmet picnic, me thinks.

inky co.

Last week I was lucky enough to discover a parcel waiting for me on my desk and I do indeedily doodily love parcels, but even more than that I love stationery, so you should have seen the look on my face when I unwrapped these gorgeous notebooks and pen & pencil set from fabulous new stationery brand Inky Co.

Inky Co. is a new Melbourne based stationery and gift wrapping online store launched in 2011 by honours graduate and graphic designer, Chloe, in collaboration with her graphic designer mum, Carolyn (what a family, feel like adopting?).
The Inky Co. philosophy is to design and manufacture in Melbourne using a combination of age old production techniques, like letterpress and flexographic printing, with environmentally friendly materials to produce beautiful Australian made products Chloe and Carolyn both love and love to use.

I'm loving the Inka Earth collection, with aztec patterns and bright bold colours, all made using only 100% recycled paper stock and printed with vegetable inks. Apart from all the stationery goodness, Inky Co also have a delicious blog. Make sure you check it out.

You go girls!
