THREADS // CAMILLA // KAFTAN QUEEN

Camilla Franks is Australia's 'kaftan queen'... and the queen of colour if her spring/summer 2012 collection has anything to do with it. In her true luxe-bohemian style, the 'Gypset' collection embraces the spirit of the psychedelic sixties, combining exotic prints with sensuous silks and brave beading.

I'm loving the over the top styling for the look book contrasted with the etherial effect of the white parachute backdrop. Pure bohemian perfection!!

SKY'S THE LIMIT

I'm always mesmerised by the amazing spectrum of colours in our skies, but the hard part is translating these in a photograph - like water, the colours are never quite the same on film.
Photographer Eric Cahan seems to have mastered the art, capturing this amazing collection of coloured skies from across the globe. See more of the series here, including times and locations (notice the difference in colours between the Californian and New York images).

LIMITED EDITION: CAMPBELL'S SOUP

It's been 50 years since Andy Warhol's iconic 1962 "32 campbell's soup cans" and Campbell's Soup has decided to pay tribute with a limited edition series of four cans designed in colourful variations inspired by Warhol's pop-art style. Available only in US Target stores :(

COLOUR SALVATION

I'm not well at the moment but in-between building my kleenex mountain and a gourmet menu of soothers and lemsip I came across this amazingly colourful fashion editorial on Ben Trovato which instantly brightened my day.

Shot by Nicole Hill at the amazing man-made masterpiece Salvation Mountain in the Californian desert,  The Colours of Love is all about being bold, strong, courageous and free.

oh happy days on paper

Oh happy days! I'm not going to lie. If I was to receive a hand written note on this colour scrumptious note paper from design studio tokketok i'd probably be more than a little giddy.

I know paper goods and stationery aren't most people's obsession but how could that neon colour and gold foil combination not get you excited? Seriously.

And of course the fact that these sets are only for "happy" occasions means that it would be impossible not to crack a smile.

own your own colour

Did you know there are over 16.7 million colours displayable on your average computer? Well children's charity Unicef UK and Dulux have teamed up to take advantage of this figure in their awesome new 'Own A Colour' fundraising campaign.

For as little as 1 pound you can purchase and name your own colour. All money raised will go directly to help transform children's lives across the world and bring a little colour to their own lives. Even celebrities are getting in on the colour action. See Roger Moore's Swedish Blue below.
With 100,010 already sold at time of posting this there are still plenty left, however I seem to be spoilt for choice. Decisions, decisions.

geronimo

OMG! Imagine being surprised one of these amazing Geronimo! balloon-troopers for your birthday or any god damn reason for celebration.

Geronimo was founded by certified 'baloonatic' Jihan who creates these original explosions of colour, ribbon and hand-cut paper in her LA studio. Check out her cute video of how Geronimo started here.

If only they shipped to Australia :(

casa dos chicos

The countdown for next year's trip to Mexico has well an truly started, but when I stumbled across this post over at design tripper it actually made me a little depressed. Why? Because I wish I had of known about Casa dos Chicos earlier so I could have booked it for myself.

A designer holiday rental perched on a hill in the surf town of Sayulita on the pacific coast of Mexico, Casa dos Chicos is right out of the pages of a luxury travel magazine. Decorated with colourful furniture and textiles from the local market, Patrizio Fradiani's newly renovated villa features four private suites, a swimming pool, a tree-top plunge pool with ocean views and a mexican-style open air living area which includes a rooftop living room and kitchen/dining dramatically linked by a bridge.

I can just picture myself rocking in that hammock with mojito in hand.
