TERRA INCOGNITA

I'm back, i'm back and deserve a good slap accross the wrist for being so slack on the blog front lately. Sometimes life gets just a little too crazy and something's gotta give - unfortunately this time for me it was Paper Social. But i'm back and with plenty of inspiration to share with you all.

To kick things off I recently stumbled accross what I thought was an amazing abstract painting but was shocked to discover that these dramatic pink hues were actually aerial shots by Australian artist Steve Back as part of his 'Terra Incognita' photographic collection. These stunning images were shot over 3 years above the salt flats and foreshores of Western Australia's Hutt Lagoon. The pink colouring is an organic pigment caused by the natural formation of algae in the water. Isn't mother nature just amazing sometimes?

THE GOLDEN TOUCH

Hi. My name is Flyn, and i'm an addict.

I admit it, I just can't help myself when it comes to a crisp new notebook and this is why my desk is a notebook mountain. I use and abuse - filling only the first few pages and then getting distracted by the next new design that catches my eye. So when I spotted these today I just couldn't stay away.

Unfortunately these aren't for sale though. They are the to-die-for DIY creation of the extremely photogencic Whitney over at Eat Sleep Cuddles (my new fave). Aren't they just the perfect combination of hot pink and gold? Time to get the gold leafing out.

SWEET SORBET DREAMS

There are so many things I love about today's post - obviously the first being the amazing sorbet colours, but I think my favourite part is that it was styled completely by UK based styling assistant Charlotte Love using only pieces from her own home (yep she actually owns all this ridiculously delicious goodness).

The multi-talented Charlotte (check out her super-cute illustrations) teamed up with friend and photography assistant Jonathan Gooch to create a test shoot for her own portfolio but because she could not get any loan products she made-do with her own things from home, including DIY projects such as the dip-dye curtains and table cloth as well the to-die-for painted chairs.

I first saw the images over at Bright Bazaar but since then they have definitely been doing the rounds of the interiors blogosphere which makes me so happy to think that what started as a small project is no doubt only going to lead to bigger and better things for Charlotte (and Jonathan). I can't wait to see more!!

SUGAR PAPER

Kraft paper, hand lettering, hot pink & gold foil... these are a few of my favourite things - and all wrapped up together in one beautiful letter press collection from Los Angeles stationery company Sugar Paper. Love!

cute as a button

Last Sunday was a pink affair for my good friend Bec's 'cute as a button' themed baby shower!
I loved creating these girly invites for the day, but i'm super glad I left the hard part of stitching each of the buttons on to the lady of the hour!
What a great afternoon in the sun. I even went home a little pink myself!
