If only all family portraits looked like this! 

This is the Steele family. Taylor Steele - prolific surf creative and director, Sybil Steele - photographer & stylist, and their two daughters Jaiden and Milla. Add the creative eye and concept of Sheree Commerford of Captain and the Gypsy Kid and you've captured the essence of one hell of a good-looking, creative and free-spirited, Australian family.

LUST HAVE // DAHLIAS

If you were to ask me my favourite flower i'd be hard pressed to give you an answer. There's just too many god damn beautiful flowers out there... BUT... Dahlias would have to be on the short list and this amazing shoot by floral designer Mikarla Bauer and photographer Amelia Fullarton just proves why these wildly bold blooms deserve to be at the top.

After a few reds on a Friday night the pair got to talking about their love for 'those bloody amazing Dahlias' and thought it would be crazy not to organise spontaneous shoot in the wee hours of the following Monday morning set against a ruggedly beautiful Lennox Head coastline. Red wine really can take claim for some great creative inspiration sometimes, can't it?

POSTCARDS FROM SYDNEY

Some of you might not be aware, but my parents recently upped and left Sydney to start a new life in the south west of France. It's a hard life for them; wining and dining, scouring brocante markets for vintage treasures, making their own jam and slowly stocking their wine cellar (slowly only because Dad is drinking it as fast as it is stocked), but it seems they do still get a little home sick.

So last weekend I ventured out into the sunshine to shoot some of my favourite spots in our sparkling city of Sydney so I could send them a little piece of home. The images above include views across Sydney Harbour from Cremorne Point, the secluded beaches and trails of my home suburb of Clontarf as well as the waves at Avalon on the Northern Beaches.

COOL KIDS // HANNAH LEMHOLT

Warning. I have a new girl crush!

Thanks to Holly at decor8 I have now spent hours (practically stalking territory) pouring through Swedish photographer Hannah Lemholt's dreamy blog HoneypieLIVINGetc. While it's written in swedish and I cannot understand a word her pictures do all the talking. It is easy to get lost within this amazing space Hannah has created online, a feeling of time almost standing still, of silence, romance and beauty - and can you believe she's only been taking photographs for 4 years???

We can also learn a thing or two from Hannah about how to take a selfie - the girl is just gorgeous (both inside and out) is she not? A true bohemian spirit as well as one quarter of the magic behind interior designers and online store Love Warriors who I will be sure to profile shortly, I just need to tear myself away from HoneypieLIVINGetc first.
