After a few reds on a Friday night the pair got to talking about their love for 'those bloody amazing Dahlias' and thought it would be crazy not to organise spontaneous shoot in the wee hours of the following Monday morning set against a ruggedly beautiful Lennox Head coastline. Red wine really can take claim for some great creative inspiration sometimes, can't it?

LUST HAVE // DAHLIAS
After a few reds on a Friday night the pair got to talking about their love for 'those bloody amazing Dahlias' and thought it would be crazy not to organise spontaneous shoot in the wee hours of the following Monday morning set against a ruggedly beautiful Lennox Head coastline. WANDERLUST // ATLANTIC BYRON BAY
Sun bleached and salt kissed the property includes the main plantation house 'The Lodge', charcoal cottage 'Driftwood' and the Caribbean palette of 'Coconut Cottage', not to mention the retro beauty of the American Airstream trailer, taking camping to the next level.
Take me there now!!!

COOL KIDS // JAI VASICEK // AHOY TRADER
With a childhood spent sailing the world on his family's boat and a stint living in Brazil it is no wonder the ocean and cross cultures are a constant source of inspiration for Jai's bold designs where he layers vibrant coloured paints with photographic prints and patterns on ceramic pieces including his famous crucifixes and portholes.
Besides the Martinique cushion currently adorning my couch, the crucifixes are a favourite of mine and currently at the top of my wish list. Adorned with feathers, shells and splashes of neon, these eclectic pieces are a true melting pot of Central/South American and Polynesian flavours with a modern twist.
Apart from being stocked at a number of designer retailers nationally Jai has created his own retail haven with his popular Byron Bay store Ahoy Trader, a bowerbird's nest of Australian homewares and fashion designers who share Jai's colourfully unique design aesthetics.

BYRON BAY BLISS
I know, I know - where the hell have I been? The last few weeks have been more than crazy and unfortunately reality has meant I've been MIA on Paper Social.
Between Life Instyle Melbourne (re-cap to come soon I promise) and moving house I've had to reluctantly neglect the blogosphere. But I must admit it hasn't been all work and no play - thankfully I managed to squeeze in a last minute beach break in Byron Bay for some much needed R&R.
The weekend was filled with sun, sand and ciders. We couldn't have asked for better weather in the bay and it was clear that summer is on it's way. Yay!

destination scroll

When the whole destination/bus scroll fad rolled around a few years back I completely lusted over them but just couldn't afford the hefty price tag (not to mention the fact I didn't have a wall to put it on) so it ended up becoming one of those items on my "i could make that myself" list which I just never got around to.
But when it came time to think of an engagement present for my good friends Amelia & Scott, I knew that this would be the perfect personalised present and that they of course had the style to appreciate it.
Each of the locations are holiday destinations for the cute couple with the final one, Palm Beach, being the location for their upcoming 2012 nuptials (bridesmaids duty, yay!).
I'm really happy with the results and I've since had commissions for more. Hopefully one day i'll finally get around to designing one for myself!
