CRAZY FOR COZAMIA

Ah-mazing mixed media art prints from Cozamia's Nancy Ramirez, a Toronto based artist with a god-given knack for creating perfect harmony between colourfully abstract acrylic art and digital design. I've got my eye on those fancy flamingos. xx

THREADS // PATRICIA CHANG x SPRING/SUMMER 2013

Robots and Frills combine!! After studying graphic design at the renowned RISD and interning at fashion house Marchesa, New York based fashion designer Patricia Chang launched her first collection last year but has already made a name for herself amongst the fashion pack.

Her quirky style sees collections including rhinoceros heads, rhinestones and all things robot! She has caught the attention of our favourite Aussie fashion bloggers Gary Pepper and Tuula Vintage who are often snapped sporting Patricia’s wares.

The online store is due to open in the coming months and I’ve got my order ready to go, top of the list being the pastel collared robot shift. I’m predicting the collection will fly off the virtual shelf pretty quick so have those credit cards on standby ladies!

Follow PATRICIACHANGNY on Instagram where you’ll find pics of Patricia painstakingly sewing sequin bear head motifs into the early hours of the morning which makes you appreciate the detail of her beautiful work even more.

I HEART BLOGSHOP

So this post is ridiculously late but better late than never I say. When I first entered the design  blogoshphere a few years back there was one blogger I thought was the absolute bees knees... the super sassy Bri Emery of designlovefest. So when Bri and Angela decided it was time to bring their uber popular Blogshop course down under for the first time late last year, Jaclyn and I just jumped at the chance to be a part of it somehow... and so it seems 'intern' dreams do come true.

Blogshop is all about teaching the basics of photoshop for bloggers - so in exchange for helping part some of my own photoshop knowledge on a group of eager blogging beavers, I got to hang out with the extremely down to earth Bri and Angela for the weekend at the amazingly cool space that is Studio Neon.

We learnt, we laughed and we instagrammed (alot).

Check out the video below for just a small glimpse at the fun that was Blogshop Sydney (yes thats me doing the fish face) or check out Bri's own run down of the weekend here.

LANA DEL REY KINDA DAY

Today the iPod has one record on constant replay. Either love her or hate her Lana Del Rey caused a real stir when she hit the airwaves back in 2011 and ever since my girl crush keeps growing and growing. She's the girl with a million personalities (and the looks to go with it) - lolita, hipster, provocateur, pin-up and general bad ass. But Lana probably describes her style best ... "Gangster Nancy Sinatra".

And her music is exactly the same. While drooling over Lana's luscious locks online I came across these images overlayed with Lana's lyrics. I love the simplicity of each and every one but am thinking I might give it a go myself too... check back for the results later or if you have any specific lyric requests, leave a comment below.
